burrrr cold

It has been a bit cold here in the north east
today was the first time I saw temps above freezing since early January
so hopefully that explains the stand still on the engine rebuild
as the picture show I have a nice rebuilt crank, NOS jugs and pistons and one NOS head (the other head has been worked over in the soda cabinet)
Still need a set of rings, they only made one size correct???
Time to get a new helmet and I will be getting an HJC to replace my flip front that has served me well and I need a Snell 2005 for the school

how to spend a day

not a good start but lets see what we can do

covers soda plasted

A little plasting of the oxidation / corrosion and look at what we have to work with

carb covers never dulled

A little hand rubbing does wonders spent many a day doing this in the Navy, oddly enough it still sucks and not one of my favorite tasks but it does the trick.
need to work a little harder to try and get the haze out of them
i was going to go mirror shine but stopped myself since this will be a daily driver/track bike

Da' racers vintage stuff round three

no chatter on my postings is this old stuff that has already been posted?
I just wanted to share this with the Bridgestone world
this looks to be a sales brochure promoting the Special Racers
I have a set of the high pipes, but would love a better photo (on your workbench or on your bike) of the side covers
I have had inquiries and nothing is for sale be it bikes paper work or parts
the Garage is a toasty 34 degree and that is not Celsius, plan on scrubbing the 200 cases today they are soaking in Gunk degreaser right now, and then it's into the soda blasting cabinet to finish them off before the rebuilding begins

vintage paper work round two

How rare are these customizing parts?
I have the rear rack as show, mine has very poor chrome, and I almost bid on the tacho on Ebay a few weeks back.
This is also a nice historical piece because it lets us know what the dealers were buying the bikes for in Jan 68 (I was 11 months old)

Vintage paper work

As you can see here are some fine examples of original paper work that you should have received if you bought your pride and joy brand new (would that make you an Old Fella?) so click on them to make them easier to read.
Before you ask I always scan with my ID stripe.
I had a Hot Rodded Honda CH250 (bonus points if you know what that is) and published all my tunning info to the web.
An unsavory type took and bundled them with a PDF of the Workshop Manual and the Parst Mico Fiche and was selling them on EBay and taking credit (and PayPal).
Please notice that the tag string is OEM circa the late 60's.
What year would a 16B 175D/T be?
I will be adding more vintage bridgestone dealer paperwork to this site as the days go on so Keep Checking in and send me some feed back, it is always the same few and there are many more looking

Boxes and Bins and Oh My!

Got a wild hair in me today and decided I would take my boxes and bins of Bridgestone parts and lay them out
I still have tanks, high pipes (and a set of SR Pipes), and wheels in the garage.
The frames are tucked away in the basement next to my Narrow Case Ducati Singles frames.
my biggest hold back on this project is time

the thought is to build this 175 DT for the USCRA Moto Giro then.....

build up the SR200 to do the vintage road racing school held by the USCRA
