gas spark explosion! working with my hands mentally relaxes me I have played with bikes (pedal and motor) and messed with cars. Luckily I have the best wife who understands my "Mechanical Issues". Now I am restoring a Burley Samba for us to ride as I go thru it

removed the drivers side wing
well the goal for today was to remove the drivers side wing to see what there was for rust/rot hidden away.
I knew the person who did a earlier restore had packed this area with self expanding foam but did not know the extent of this
the mud shield came out after removing a few self tapping screws (all bolts were either missing or cut off).
as you can see there has been some patching and the inner depths look clean (sticker is still there from when the lower fender was replaced.
the sill area was not screwed in so it had to have the welds cut and at the tail of the wing it was also welded, alot of the bolts also need to be cut since the captive nut were free spinning
THE WING HAS LEFT THE BODY -finally
