cutting and digging

removed the drivers side wing

well the goal for today was to remove the drivers side wing to see what there was for rust/rot hidden away.
I knew the person who did a earlier restore had packed this area with self expanding foam but did not know the extent of this
the mud shield came out after removing a few self tapping screws (all bolts were either missing or cut off).
as you can see there has been some patching and the inner depths look clean (sticker is still there from when the lower fender was replaced.
the sill area was not screwed in so it had to have the welds cut and at the tail of the wing it was also welded, alot of the bolts also need to be cut since the captive nut were free spinning
THE WING HAS LEFT THE BODY -finally

First Sunday in

Well I spent the day Scraping and wire brushing the passenger's side floor pan
the Glue that was used to hold the indoor outdoor carpet down actually looks like construction adhesive that you glue wood together with, I work for an importer of matting and flooring so I have seen my share of adhesives and to say "I know floor adhesives and Mr this is not floor adhesive, I think I know what I am talking about.
here are some of the Clean shots of the pan
two stubbling blocks today, the hand brake and the oval around the shifters would not budge, and I was heavy with the hammer on my Impact Screwdriver
