mothers day

now every thing is clear two things came up
one, the reason for no clutch pedal presure is that there was a hole in the line two there were no seals in the brake propotioning junction block, maybe that is why it was unplugged?
there is a bit more rot/rust than I first thought, but big bob the body guy say's no problem he had cleaned up worst Italian steel cancer than this
photos for your enjoyment

depression and happiness

bummed out that I will be at my inlaws on Saturday - no quality car time
Sunday is mothers day and the boys have a 3pm soccer game

Happy because I have a set of Standard flare wrenches to take my hydraulic system apart and service my Pressure / Warning Light Junction box

also ordered some stuff for welding, sold kids crap on craigslist........

Rain ruined a good Sunday

My nemesis for the day was the pedal support sub structure and the M/C's
first I wanted to remove the Brake M/C I have Metric Flare wrenches but guess what only one fitting was metric, now I need to by a tool - oh the pain
so the next move was to unbolt the M/C's and pull the pedal support
pedals came out with no effort

Another item that needs to make an appearance in the sandblasting cabinet
most of my time was spent trying to get my hand and a wrench in to the support box the undo the M/C bolts - longer ones are on the top
and then all the bolts holding this to the body
I do know that the one located at 5 o'clock on the layout will be replaced with a cap hex head - talk about no clearance!
well as you can see in the photos this area was soaked in Hydraulic Fluid
clean that up an closed everything off because "the rain is a coming"

air cleaners and the rainy saturday

well between cleaning the basement and pending showers I was able to get the AirCleaners off and as Mark Evans would say - put sum "alllumini-ummm" tape over the carb throats
I also went "scrapping" and found one yard with two stripped shells - a roadster and a GT, but hit paydirt on the second yard
he not only had a dozen GT's and roadsters but he was also an enthusiast!
I did make my first purchase - a proper pedal box cover to replace the butched one I had
instead of taking the time to do things right and remove the cover to service the Clutch and Bracke M/C they cut it to access
when I went to pull it to get to the rust I think I now know why the phillips screws were all stripped and I had to drill them out.
I also picked up a DVD from the UK
